Caregiver / CNA / DSP
No certification required"Caregiver," "CNA," and "DSP" are different titles for the same in-home care role at Resource One. You'll provide hands-on personal care for elderly and disabled clients in their homes — bathing, grooming, mobility assistance, meal prep, medication reminders, and companionship. Frequently asked questions
What does an in-home caregiver actually do?
An in-home caregiver helps elderly and disabled clients with daily living tasks in their own homes — bathing, dressing, mobility assistance, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and companionship. The work is one-on-one and consistent. Many of our caregivers serve the same 1–3 regular clients for years.
What's the difference between a caregiver, CNA, and DSP?
At Resource One the day-to-day work is the same. CNA is the certified version of the role (TN CNA cert required). Caregiver and DSP are non-certified titles for the same in-home care work — bathing, mobility, meals, medication reminders, companionship. Most of our DSP and caregiver work is elderly home care, not ID/DD specialty.
Will I really work near my home?
Yes — that's the core of our community-based model. Our office matches you with clients in your own neighborhood, with a target commute of under 30 minutes. Caregivers in Bartlett serve Bartlett-area clients; caregivers in Jackson stay in the Madison County area. Tell us your radius preference during your interview.
Are these W-2 jobs or 1099?
W-2 employment, not gig or 1099. Every Resource One caregiver gets full bonding, liability, and workers' compensation coverage. We are not a gig platform like Care.com, Papa, or CareLinx — you have employer protections from day one.
What's the pay?
We discuss pay during your interview. It depends on your role, certification, and the specific assignment. Our office gives you a clear answer before you commit to anything — no bait-and-switch and no scheduling surprises.
How long does the hiring process take?
Most candidates move from application to first shift in 2–3 weeks, depending on how quickly background and drug screening results come back. The 4-step process below covers what to expect: apply online, brief interview, screening, then schedule.
