What CNAs do at Resource One

This is one-on-one work in someone's home — not a 12-bed hallway. Our CNAs typically support 1–3 regular clients with consistent shifts. The work focuses on personal care, observation, and steady presence.

  • Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting
  • Mobility, transfers, safe positioning
  • Meal preparation and feeding assistance
  • Medication reminders (no administration — that's LPN scope)
  • Light housekeeping and laundry
  • Vitals and observation, escalating to LPN/PA when warranted
  • Companionship, supervision, and engagement

Hear from our CNAs

I've been with Resource One for four years now. The office staff actually listens when I have a scheduling conflict, and I've always had clients close to home.

Tameka R.

CNA, Memphis

I started as a CNA and when I went back to school for my LPN, they worked my schedule around my classes. Now I'm doing skilled nursing visits and making a real difference for my patients.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a CNA certification to apply?

Yes — these CNA roles require a current Tennessee CNA certificate. We verify all certifications through the Tennessee Department of Health registry. If you're enrolled in a CNA program but not yet certified, reach out anyway — we can talk about timing, and our caregiver and DSP roles don't require certification.

What's the difference between a CNA and a caregiver or DSP?

At Resource One the day-to-day work is the same — bathing, mobility, meals, medication reminders, companionship. CNA is the certified version of the role (TN CNA cert required). Caregiver and DSP are non-certified titles for the same in-home care work. Most of our DSP and caregiver work is elderly home care, not ID/DD.

Are these CNA jobs really W-2?

Yes. Every CNA at Resource One is a W-2 employee with full bonding, liability, and workers' compensation coverage. We are not a gig platform and we do not contract with caregivers as 1099. You're protected if anything goes wrong on a shift.

Will I be matched with clients near my home?

That's the core of our community-based model. We aim for under-30-minute commutes from your home to your client. CNAs in Bartlett or Cordova generally serve clients in those neighborhoods; CNAs in Jackson or Dyersburg stay close to home. Tell us your radius preference during your interview.

What's CNA pay at Resource One?

We discuss pay during your interview. It depends on your certification, experience, and the specific assignment. Our office gives you a clear answer before you commit to anything — no bait-and-switch, no scheduling surprises.
